Charles A. and Earle D. Holt, of the E.D. Holt Oil Company, this week announced the sale of the Building of the Arts, one of the show places of Mount Desert Island, to Consuelo Sides of Boston and New York.
Although definite plans are not available at this time, the owner is expected to establish a summer theater featuring popular stars of the stage and screen.
The building, which was built in 1900, is reported to have cost $150,000.  It is located near the Kebo Valley Golf Links.  Many famous artists have been presented there, though in late years little use has been made of it.  The Building of Arts and the grounds surrounding it used to make an ideal site for the presentation of outdoor programs.
